INDICATIONS
Dutas prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) within the body. DHT is involved in the progression of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Dutas is utilized to deal with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men by having an enlarged prostate. Dutas helps improve urinary flow and may even also lower your dependence on prostate surgery later on.
Dutas is oftentimes given with another medication called tamsulosin (Flomax).Dutas could also be used for other purposes.
INSTRUCTIONS
Take the same manner prescribed from your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on the prescription label.
Take dutas having a full glass of water.
Dutas could be taken with or without food.
Do not chew, crush, or open a dutasteride capsule. Swallow the capsule whole. Dutas can bother your lips, mouth, or throat in the event the capsule has been broken or opened when you swallow it. It may take approximately six months of utilizing this medicine before your symptoms improve. For best results, keep with all the medication as directed. Do not stop taking dutasteride without talking to your physician.
STORAGE
Store dutasteride at room temperature from moisture and warmth. Dutas capsules can be soft and leaky, or they could stick together when they get too hot. Do not use any capsule which is cracked or leaking.
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these indications of an allergic reaction: hives; lack of breath; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Less serious unwanted side effects can include:
decreased libido (sexual drive);
decreased volume of semen released during sex;
impotence (trouble getting or keeping a harder erection); or
breast tenderness or enlargement.
This is not a complete report on negative effects and others may occur.
Tell your doctor about all other medicines you utilize, especially:
conivaptan (Vaprisol);imatinib (Gleevec);isoniazid (for treating tuberculosis);an antibiotic like clarithromycin (Biaxin), erythromycin (E.E.S., EryPed, Ery-Tab, Erythrocin, Pediazole), or telithromycin (Ketek);an antifungal medication such as itraconazole (Sporanox), ketoconazole (Nizoral), miconazole (Oravig), or voriconazole (Vfend);an antidepressant like nefazodone;heart or blood pressure medication such as nicardipine (Cardene) or quinidine (Quin-G); or HIV/AIDS medicine like atazanavir (Reyataz), delavirdine (Rescriptor), indinavir (Crixivan), nelfinavir (Viracept), saquinavir (Invirase), or ritonavir (Norvir, Kaletra).
This list is just not complete as well as other drugs may talk with dutasteride. Tell your physician about all medications you use.
